Marine Sergeant Garen Evans wasn’t supposed to be home until next month.
So his son Kooper and daughter Karter-May were shocked when Evans walked through the door of their elementary school classroom in Georgia.
As cameras rolled on the heartwarming moment, both children jumped into their dad’s arms and smiled from ear to ear. Evans’ littlest son, Keegan, also squeezed in for a hug.
Evans had been deployed in Japan for the past seven months.
When his wife, Kristina, found out he would be returning sooner than expected, she kept it a secret from their kids. And Ola Elementary School officials helped coordinate Evans’ entrance.
“I just wanted it to be a special surprise for them,” Kristina told WAGA in Atlanta.
Judging by Kooper’s and Karter-May’s expressions, it certainly was.
