Princess Eugenie did something unconventional at her royal wedding to Jack Brooksbank, by showing off a long scar on her back.

The bride specifically requested to accentuate her scar from an eight hour corrective spinal surgery she had when she was 12-years-old for scoliosis. The long sleeve dress is by British designer Peter Pilotto.

Today is International Scoliosis Awareness Day and I’m very proud to share my X Rays for the very first time. I also want to honour the incredible staff at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital who work tirelessly to save lives and make people better. They made me better and I am delighted to be their patron of the Redevelopment Appeal. To hear more of my story visit #TheRNOHCharity #RedevelopmentAppeal #RNOH #NHS

"I am living proof that all these young people that have the same thing as I have, maybe more so or not, I have done it and been through it and want to be able to help as much as I can for everyone," the princess says.

The princess is fundraising to build a new state of the art facility for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, where her surgery was done, to be named the Princess Eugenie House.
