See Dunkin’ Donuts Barista Share Sweet Dance With Autistic Customer

By Meredith Ganzman

A Dunkin' Donuts barista and a customer met over a coffee order-- or rather, a coolatta, and bonded over a dance.

The customer waving his hands is 23-year-old Donald Simon. He has autism and is nonverbal.

Donald was ordering a drink when Lady Gaga’s song, “Paparazzi,” came over the loudspeaker, and he felt the groove.

His mother was so moved that Bryan Lara, the barista, took the time to interact with Donald. She says people mostly don’t put in the effort.

But the video is proof that you don’t always have to have words to make a new friend.
