Three-year-old Gabby introduced a lonely cop in New York to her friend -- a stuffed Elmo doll to keep him company on the job.

Since then Elmo's been riding along with Buffalo Police Officer Kibler of the Blasdell Police Department and other members of the force. But Elmo is smarter than your average furry red monster. Officer Kibler and the Mayor of Blasdell, NY Rob Hefner recently informed Gabby that Elmo had completed his Police Academy training and requested to be assigned to Gabby's home to keep her safe and watch over her.

Officer Elmo now proudly stands guard on Gabby’s bookshelf where she looks up to him every day -- because thanks to these kind officials, she wants to be a real-life police officer when she grows up!
