Police Officer Is Given Tearful Send Off After 30-Years On the Force

Veteran police officer Andre Jenkins simply couldn’t hold back his tears while finishing his very last patrol before retirement.

The 30-year veteran of the Sarasota Police Department in Florida addresses his law-enforcement family in his final call, saying "This will be my last transmission on the radio... I'd like to thank all my SPD family for the last 30 years of being by my side.

“I've had plenty of good times and a lot of good memories over my career and I appreciate it. I’ll cherish them for the rest of my life," Jenkins said whild fighting back tears.

Fellow officers then took turns wishing him farewell and thanking him for his years of exceptional service.

The department posted the emotional video on Facebook, where it has been seen and shared thousands of times, along with the message, "We might be biased but the men and women of the Sarasota Police Department have some of the biggest hearts for our community."

Congratulations to Officer Andre Jenkins on a job well done.
