Even though the NFL trade deadline is a week from Tuesday, the Patriots are not wasting any time.
According to multiple reports, the team has traded for Falcons wide out Mohamed Sanu in exchange for a second-round pick. The Patriots have liked Sanu for awhile, and now with the Falcons struggling and the offense needing a receiver, the move was made.
The 30-year-old has 33 catches for 313 yards and a touchdown this season. He had his best season last year, when he posted 66 catches for 838 yards and four touchdowns.
New England now has Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Phillip Dorsett, Sanu, Jakobi Meyers, N'Keal Harry and Gunner Olszewski at wide receiver. Perhaps one player will need to be let go to make room for Sanu on the roster.
