This is a day that Connor and Ciera will never forget! The pair, who both have special needs, got to celebrate their love and go to prom all in one day.
After Ciera suffered a seizure in the third grade it left her permanently at that cognitive level, she started at a special needs school where she met her best friend Connor, who has Down Syndrome.
According to Ciera's mom Carissa Davis, the two Facetime every day and are completely inseparable, so it was only natural for them to their school’s biggest night together. In a blog post on Love What Matters, she says Connor tells her daughter daily how much she means to him with words of affirmation such as "Ciera you are beautiful," "Ciera, I love you so much," and "Ciera you sing beautifully."
This year’s prom was a big deal for the pair because they weren’t able to attend last year due to an emergency surgery for Ciera, so they had to make this one extra special. And what better way to remember the magic than with a wonderful photoshoot? Ciera's mother Carissa, who also served as the photographer, tells Radio.com, "they were so easy to shoot! They were truly 'in the moment' and they didn’t stop laughing at all."
These amazing images show just how excited the best friends were for their big night, getting dressed up from head to toe.
Those smiles really are worth a thousand words!
