A New Jersey substitute teacher at Cedar Hill School was fired after she told a room full of first graders that Santa Claus is fake.

Superintendent Rene Rovtar released a statement saying that she was “troubled and disheartened” by the incident that could potentially ruin the childhood wonder associated with the holidays.

It turns out revealing the truth about Santa is a fireable offence; Rovtar added that the teacher would not be returning after the holiday faux pas.

The unnamed teacher didn’t stop at just Santa. She allegedly spilled the beans on the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and even Elf on a Shelf wasn’t safe.

Bah humbug.
