IBM has a free resource that provides online job training designed for veterans looking to enter the workforce after their service and gain new skills, along with one-on-one mentoring support, to make them more resilient and successful amid COVID-19.
IBM has also added support for veterans in the form of mentoring and helping them navigate their new career path. The company doubled the number of volunteer mentors for veterans to 150 this year. Since 2009, 445 IBM employees have mentored over 1,200 post-9/11 veterans and helped them obtain meaningful civilian employment.
IBM just registered its 1,000th user on the SkillsBuild for Vets platform. The program was launched with non-profit partners including Corporate American Supports You and the USO.
