
President Donald Trump and the Department of the Interior will host a second “Salute to America” celebration in Washington, D.C., on the Fourth of July.
A statement released Friday read that Trump and the First Lady “will host the 2020 Salute to America on the South Lawn of the White House and Ellipse,” an area located between the White House and the Washington Monument.

Last year’s event drew thousands to the National Mall, where Trump paid tribute to the accomplishments of the nation’s armed services individually.
Trump is expected to speak from the South Lawn of the White House. Last year, he spoke from the Lincoln Memorial,

“In addition to music, military demonstrations, and flyovers to honor our nation’s service members and veterans, the President will deliver remarks that celebrate our independence and salute our amazing heritage. The evening will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display over the National Mall,” the statement said.
The release did not mention the coronavirus pandemic.
