(SportsRadio 94 WIP) -- Really bad news for the Eagles.
Free-agent acquisition Malik Jackson will miss the remainder of the season with a Lisfranc injury, according to Mike Garafolo. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson revealed the injury was "significant" on Monday.
The loss of Jackson is a significant one. The Eagles were counting on the defensive tackle to be a crucial part of their pass rush, so-much so that they signed him to a three-year, $30 million deal this past offseason.
On the roster the obvious player to step in for Jackson is Timmy Jernigan, who was a starter in 2017 and had a sack on Sunday. The depth, however, now becomes a concern considering how much the Eagles like to shuffle thier defensive linemen in-and-out of the game. Hassan Ridgeway is currently the only healthy backup on the roster since the Eagles only have four defensive tackles. Bruce Hector is on the practice squad and could be brought up before Sunday's game.
