A pharmacist allegedly ruined coronavirus vaccines with the belief that they would mutate people's DNA.
According to the Associated Press, 46-year-old pharmacist Steven Brandenburg was arrested following an investigation into 57 spoiled vials of the Moderna vaccine, which contained enough doses for 500 people.
Ozaukee County District Attorney Adam Gerol said during a hearing that Brandenburg "formed this belief they were unsafe," and that Brandenburg was also upset over his pending divorce from his wife. Gerol also added that a coworker of Brandenburg's said he'd taken a gun to work twice.
In a probable cause statement, a detective wrote that Brandenburg is "an admitted conspiracy theorist" and that he'd tried to ruin the vaccine because he believed it would hurt people by altering their DNA.
