DALLAS -- Michael Irvin never ceases to amaze us when he joins us weekly on 105.3 The Fan, and today was no different.

Shan and RJ asked Irvin if he happened to have purchased a lottery ticket for last night's Powerball or Friday night's Mega Millions jackpot? And, let's just say, Irvin gave an interesting reason for why he purchased a ticket.

"Let me tell you my philosophy on this. I swear, I'm so stupid. I'm just so stupid. So, I walk into the store, right? It pays $400 or $500 million, right? And I'm like, 'should I play it?' I shouldn't share but I'm going to share, my mind goes to, 'dude, how many times did you wander into one of those places (and get a lap dance). If I can put $20 on her to stand right there, I can put $20 on (a chance to win) $500 million."

A lucky person in Maryland matched all six numbers in Wednesday's drawing to win the $731.1 million prize, which is the fourth-largest in Powerball history.

Friday's Mega Millions jackpot now stands at $970 million after nobody won on Tuesday.
