The Guardian newspaper in Australia noticed something wrong with their latest "Australian Bird of the Year" poll. Not that the poll is rather stupid, but that there seems to have been some tampering a voter fraud with the results.
On November 10th there was a huge increase in votes for the Cockatoo. Readers contacted the Guardian with their concerns. These people are really into birds.
The paper did an investigation and noticed that their was automated voting for three different birds, the rainbow lorikeet, the black throated finch, and my personal favorite the cockatoo.
This is the first time...wait...nope this has happened before. Back in 2017 someone was spamming the first Australian Bird of the Year poll with votes for an owl (which according to Google is a bird).
