ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOX) - You can now take your first step on the way to getting a COVID-19 vaccine in St. Louis County.

The County Department of Public Health has a pre-registration process set up for both individuals and organizations who are interested in getting vaccinated. According to STLCorona.com, you "must pre-register with DPH."

Anyone can pre-register, here. You'll be asked to complete a form that asks for some personal contact, health and professional information to determine approximately when you'll be notified about an appointment to receive the vaccine.

"DPH follows state tiers and guidelines posted on covidvaccine.mo.gov to determine who gets scheduled when," the website states. "Vaccines are not currently being authorized by the state for the general public. At this time, only people in the state’s Phase 1A tier can be vaccinated."

Officials say you'll be notified when you are eligible to receive the vaccine, but it "may be weeks before you can schedule your appointment because of the volume."
