As we get closer to RADIO.COM's I’m Listening September 23 broadcast, we are sharing some of our favorite moments from our most powerful artist interviews.
As we gear up for a show filled with kindness, compassion, and acceptance from the perspective of wonderful artists and athletes, we are giving you a sneak preview of what is to come.
When we sat down with Lewis Capaldi, the Glasgow-based singer deeply emphasized the importance of speaking with a therapist. Capaldi believes that everyone can benefit from speaking to a therapist, whether dealing with tough circumstances or simply having an outlet where we can check-in on our mental health status.
Lewis explains, “you can be perfectly sound… you don’t have to have depression or anxiety… to go to a therapist. You may just be someone who like, you need to kind of off-load… and share with someone,” the singer continues, “there’s this misconception in therapy that it’s something you do if you’re already having issues with whatever it may be, your mental health.”
The “Before You Go” singer also shares with us that he has also started speaking to the therapist in order to talk through what’s on his mind. Being able to check-in with someone and have a place to review his thoughts and feelings has allowed Capaldi to understand that therapy really can be for everyone.
Don’t miss more words of wisdom from Lewis Capaldi and the I’m Listening class of 2020. Catch our September 23 show at 6PM on all RADIO.COM stations (some exceptions apply) and on the RADIO.COM app.
