Adam Sandler stunned many fans last year with his critically acclaimed performance in the movie ‘Uncut Gems.’ While the award shows decided to pass on Sandler, many fans called it his best work, hoping to see the comedian in more serious roles in the future. Now, it appears Sandler has signed up for another serious role, as he is set to star in an outer space drama from ‘Chernobyl’ director Johan Renck.

Not much is known about the project other than Sandler and Renck are on board and it will eventually stream on Netflix. The currently untitled film is based on Jaroslav Kalfar’s ‘The Spaceman of Bohemia,’ and will see Sandler star as an astronaut who is “sent to the edge of the galaxy to collect mysterious ancient dust.”

Many fans are already intrigued by the project, as anticipation grows to see Sandler in another serious movie. Sandler did promise he would put out his worst movie yet if he didn’t get nominated for an Oscar for ‘Uncut Gems’ so most fans are just hoping this space drama isn’t that movie.
