Hundreds of people could soon be looking for new places to park if Mountain View follows through on a plan to ban all oversized vehicles, including RVs, from parking on residential streets.

The plan would affect streets that are 40 feet wide or less and those that have bicycle lanes. It would force campers and motor homes onto larger industrial and residential streets as overnight options.

Advocates for people who are homeless are threatening to take legal action if the city follows through with the plan. They contend that it would be a civil rights violation.

Mountain View's city council is expected to vote on the matter on Tuesday.
