Amber Alert Issued After Stabbing And Kidnapping, Police Say

Police were searching Monday for a man accused of kidnapping his two-year-old daughter after gravely stabbing the girl's mother, San Jose police said. 

An Amber Alert was issued by the California Highway Patrol for the missing child Bethanie Carraza who was believed to be with her father Victor Magana.

Police said Bethanie's mother had "life-threatening injuries" from "at least one stab wound," suffered Sunday night at the hands of her boyfriend Magana. He fled with their daughter before police arrived, officials said. 

Magana is described as 5 feet, 4 inches tall, 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. 

Police said he was driving  a light green 2007 Hyundai Sante Fe, with California license plate 7XJX025.
