OAKLAND (KCBS RADIO) — Meet the recently crowned Chopped TV show winner Chef Jen Biesty.
She crushed the guys on the Food Network show with her mad skills, fighting spirit and "bolas gigantes de un toro"! Chef Jen is no stranger to cooking battles on TV having competed in Top Chef, though she did not win the contest she did win an army of new followers and fans.
In a new book East Bay Cooks, Chef Jen is featured alongside her tasty signature Shakewell Short Ribs recipe. We also have it for you to download and add to your culinary arsenal (see below).
Her popular Oakland restaurant Shakewell serves up Mediterranean cuisine and killer crafted cocktails and is the perfect spot for an intimate dinner for two or gathering for groups and parties.
Enjoy my chat with the rock star Chef who made the "510" proud with this recent win.
Congrats Chef - you’ve always been a champ in my eyes!!
Note:To make your own croutons, take slightly stale bread and tear into bite-size pieces. Drizzle extra-virgin olive oil over top and season with salt and pepper. Arrange in one layer on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake in a preheated 375ºF oven for 5 minutes. Stir the croutons and bake another 5 minutes or until nicely browned.
