A fast-moving vegetation fire Monday afternoon prompted evacuations in Belmont, though crews quickly gained the upper hand.
The San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department tweeted firefighters stopped progress on the four-alarm fire shortly after 5 p.m. Crews will remain on the scene to attend to hot spots.
The advisory covered residents living in San Juan Canyon from East Laurel Creek Rd. to Cipriani Blvd.
Traffic in the area was impacted.
