ELLWOOD CITY, Pa (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A 104 year run for an Ellwood City grocery store is coming to an end.

Loccisano’s Golden Dawn grocery store will become a SHOP 'n SAVE store on August 17.

Sisters Jessica, Lexie and Rachel Loccisano told KDKA Radio that the reason they sold the store is that their father is retiring and, while the rest of the family has loved running the business, they're ready to move on to new adventures.

The Loccisanos expressed their great appreciation for their employees, and said "We have the most dedicated employees here that you ever ask for." They also said they're extremely grateful for for their customers and will be holding some unadvertised, in-store giveaways between now and August 16th as a way to say 'thank you' for their years of patronage.

"As a family-owned business, we understand the importance of creating a safe and enjoyable retail experience for all neighborhood shoppers," said owner David Morini. "Because we'll be operating as an essential business, we feel it’s important to keep our doors open while we revamp the store’s interior, source local products and incorporate new offerings for patrons to enjoy."

To honor the legacy of Loccisano's, the new owners say they will continue to offer customer favorites such as Loccisano family recipes, an onsite butcher and meat department favorites.

Loccisano's open its doors in 1916.
