5-Vehicle Crash Closes Rt. 28 For Almost An Hour And A Half

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – Traffic was brought to a standstill Friday morning around 8:10 a.m. by a multi-vehicle accident on Route 28.

The five-vehicle accident closed the inbound side for over an hour approaching the Highland Park Bridge but both lanes did reopen shortly after 9:30.

LATEST TRAFFIC

The vehicles are all on the shoulder of the roadway but they’re still working to clear the crash.

Traffic was backed up from RIDC Park all the way to the Highland Park Bridge but was starting to move shortly before 10.

Freeport road was also backed from Blawnox all the way down toward the Highland Park Bridge.
