Allegheny Has 66 New COVID Cases, 12 Hospitalizations

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Allegheny County Health Department has announced its COVID-19 update for Saturday, August 1.

There have now been 8,160 positive cases in the county, an increase of 66 from Friday.The positive test dates ranged from July 7 through July 31.In the 66 new cases, the ages ranged from one to 90; the median age was 37.There have been 681 hospitalizations, either ongoing or in the past, and there were 12 new hospitalizations to report from Friday.240 confirmed or probable deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported by the ACHD, but there was one new death from Friday, July 31.The newest data comes from 1,459 administered tests.The 25-49 age group is still the most affected demographic, and that is reflected in Sunday’s numbers with 21 of the 66 cases falling within that group.The 50-64 range had 17 of the positive cases.As far as gender breakdowns, 29 of the cases were found in women and 37 for men.The Allegheny County Health Department has a digital map that can be used to follow the positive cases and their locations and densities across the county.
