PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The giant, lighted Wholey fish in the Strip District may not be smiling for much longer but Wholey’s market isn’t going anywhere.

The owner of the building is planning to demolish the former cold storage warehouse on Penn Avenue to make way for a 21-story office tower.

Wholey’s tells KDKA Radio that the building has been empty for nearly 12 years and does not affect their business at all.

Developers say the plan is to preserve the fish that has been smiling on the Strip for 30 years.
