PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A bus stop along Brighton Road is slated to be removed, a bus stop directly in front of a homeless shelter and food pantry.

Northside Common Ministries Director Jay Poliziani met with Port Authority officials in an attempt to keep the stop, that he tells KDKA Radio’s Lynne Hayes-Freeland is necessary for clients:

"The folks that use our services have multiple challenges and this is just adding another challenge to their plate,” said Poliziani.

Port Authority is standing by the decision to remove the stop on the 16 line November 24th, citing safety and access concerns.

Riders will need to use a nearby stop in front of the Zone 1 Police Station.
