PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Butler Area School District has announced that it intends to reopen its schools for the 2020-2021 academic year.
While the state of Pennsylvania is still within the “Green” COVID-19 designation, the Butler Area School District has created an “Enhanced Green” plan for students of all ages as they go back to school.
The program was created for parents and students to review before the school year starts and includes information and updates for how to prepare for the classroom changes.
Some of the updates, like the ones in the kindergarten through fourth grade portion, emphasize the requirement of masks both while school is in session and on buses.
There are also pages for students and guardians of those in junior high (fifth and sixth grade), intermediate high (seventh, eighth, and ninth grade), and senior high school (10th, 11th, and 12th grade).
Information about cyber learning is also provided.
The School District drives home certain bullet points that have been commonplace in a pandemic, which highlights wearing a mask and abiding by social distancing.
