(Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Kansas City Chiefs are world champs and to celebrate, one member of the team is paying for every single dog adoption at a Kansas City animal shelter.

Defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi has offered to cover the cost for every dog currently at the KC Pet Project.

During the season Nnadi paid for one dog’s adoption for each win the team got.

That ended up being 15 wins, including the playoffs.

So for the Super Bowl, Nnadi raised the stakes and now over 100 dogs are up for adoption at the KC Pet Project.

The average cost of adopting a dog is $150.
