PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The City of Pittsburgh and American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, Local 2719, have agreed to terms of a new contract.

The six-year deal gives AFSCME employees a salary increase, paid paternal leave and allows emoloyees to donate paid time off to other employees in certain situations among other "employment upgrades."

In addition, the city said all gendered pronouns (he/him/his, she/her/hers) have been changed to gender neutral pronouns (they/them/theirs) "in an effort to be more inclusive for all gender identities."

The new agreement runs through December 2025.
