PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Mellon Tennis Bubble in Shadyside is once again closing indefinitely.

The City of Pittsburgh announced on Thursday that the indoor facility is closing “due to concerns from patrons and staff about the airborne spread of COVID-19.”

The bubble will close at the end of business on Thursday, July 9 after it reopened on June 15.

Those who wish to play tennis are urged to use the more than 50 neighborhood courts in parks around the city.

Singles play is also encouraged.
