(Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A Michigan man has been arrested and indicted in the hack of UPMC’s Human Resources server in 2014 where data from more than 65,000 workers was stolen.

Authorities say 29-year-old Justin Johnson allegedly stole names, social security numbers, addresses and salary information of every UPMC employee.

Johnson sold the information on the dark web, and using the information, criminals filed false tax returns around $1.7 million in refunds.

Government officials are trying to detain Johnson until trial.
