HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate is coming down from a pandemic peak.
The Department of Labor and Industry estimates unemployment at 13.1 percent in May, down 3 points from April.
The data used from the week May 11 – 16 was prior to many counties in the commonwealth moving into the green phase of the state’s mitigation plan.
Payrolls grew by almost 200,000.
The estimated number of residents who are working or looking for work was up 23,000 over the month.
