HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pausing mandatory fall sports activities while they come to a further decision, the PIAA left many wondering what the future hold for interscholastic sports across the commonwealth.

State Representative Mike Reese, a member of the PIAA Board of Directors, told KDKA Radio’s Wendy Bell the PIAA wants to involve State Leadership in the decision.

“We want to work with the governor, want to work with the Secretary of Health, Department of Education to return to sports safely,” said Reese.

The board meets again in two weeks August 21 to discuss the future of interscholastic sports.

“We have two weeks to have a pretty robust discussion in Harrisburg about how to get kids back into sports and these extracurricular activities in a safe way,” added Reese.
