Pittsburgh International Airport Awarded $3 Million In Safety and Infrastructure Grant Money

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine L. Chao on Tuesday announced that Pittsburgh International Airport will receive part of $273 million in airport safety and infrastructure grants that are being allocated to 41 states and five territories.

Pittsburgh International will get more than $3 million from the federal government to acquire snow removal equipment and rehabilitate a taxiway.

Chao told KDKA Radio's Wendy Bell, "We need this good news, because we've all experienced very challenging times over the last several months as we've all faced this global COVID-19 [pandemic] together. And as America begins to open up, we are building - we are rebuilding this economy on the strong foundation of what this administration was able to create over the first three years.
