PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - President Trump’s re-election campaign has filed a federal lawsuit against the state of Pennsylvania and several counties, including Allegheny County, over mail-in ballots.
The National Republican Party and four local members of Congress, including Mike Kelly and Guy Reschenthaler, are also plaintiffs in the suit.
They want the state to change the way those ballots are collected and counted.
The lawsuit claims that during the June 2 primary, elections officials ran afoul of state and federal election laws and jeopardized election security.
A Pennsylvania law last year expanded mail-in ballot options to let anyone who wanted to vote by mail do so even if they did not have a reason they could not vote in person.
Elections officials so far have not commented on the suit.
