HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is expected to reveal this afternoon which counties will move from the red to yellow and yellow to green under the pandemic recovery plan.

Gov. Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levin will hold a briefing at 4 p.m.

Allegheny County along with a majority of Southwestern PA moved into the yellow phase last Friday, with the exception of Beaver County.

Beaver moved into the yellow phase today, May 22.

Wolf wasn’t specific which counties will moving into the yellow have but said it will be “a whole range of counties.”It is also unknown what areas, if any will move into the green phase.

In the green phase, hair salons, barbershops, dine-in restaurants, gyms and other businesses can reopen

According to PA’s coronavirus website in the green phase:

  • All Businesses Must Follow CDC and PA Department of Health Guidelines
  • Social Restrictions
  • Aggressive Mitigation Lifted
  • All Individuals Must Follow CDC and PA Department of Health Guidelines
  • Monitor public health indicators, adjust orders and restrictions as necessary

Wolf also said he hasn’t seen any data that would indicate any areas currently in the yellow phase would have to move to tighter restrictions in the red phase.

Pennsylvania is using modeling from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as other models to make decisions on what stage a county moves into.
