PITTSBURGH (KDKA Newsroom) - The Secretary of Agriculture, Russell Redding, and Pennsylvania State Veterinarian Dr. Kevin Brightbill met up with Santa Claus in Hershey and have announced that all the reindeer will be able to pull the sleigh this year.

After inspecting the health of all of Santa’s reindeer, they have passed with flying colors and are approved for their take off on Christmas Eve.

“Not everyone knows what takes place behind the scenes to allow Santa and his nine reindeer to take flight on Christmas Eve,” said Agriculture Secretary Redding.

“Thanks to Dr. Brightbill, his counterpart in the North Pole, and Santa’s due diligence, we can expect gifts under the tree on Christmas morning.”

Santa’s reindeer will be led by Rudolph, and the Christmas crew will also have the appropriate permits and certificates to land on rooftops and deliver gifts, according to Alaska’s State Veterinarian, Dr. Robert F. Gerlach.

All the appropriate files have been signed, and all the reindeer are ready to go. The Good Boys and Girls of Pennsylvania can breathe easy now knowing all the boxes have been checked for Santa's arrival.
