PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Thesevere weather in the Pittsburgh area on Friday may extend into Saturday morning, but it's not directly related to the remnants of Hurricane Laura.
Accuweather meteorologist Dave Samuel says what was Laura will miss us. "It's gonna head well to our south moving across Kentucky today, will slide along the Virginia-North Carolin aborder tomorrow," he said.
Rain storms Friday are from a cold front that will pick up some of that low's moisture from the south.
Samuel is looking at another front. "More importantly, we have a strong cold front heading our way, so that with the moisture is gonna trigger some thunderstorms," he said.
Meaning more power outages could be in store for the area. Some are still without electricity from last night's storms.
