PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) Pa. State Rep. Daryle Metcalfe on Tuesday introduced five articles of impeachment against Gov. Tom Wolf.
A Republican from Butler County, Metcalfe is calling for the impeachment of Gov. Wolf over misbehavior in office.
Metcalfe posted the articles in full to his Facebook page and has picked up 24 co-sponsors.
In the articles, Metcalfe highlights Wolf’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic, the disaster declaration made by Wolf, and the state’s response to the pandemic within nursing and long-term care homes.
Metcalfe has claimed that the way Wolf responded to the COVID-19 outbreak was unconstitutional and impacted millions of Pennsylvanians, including the 3,000 that have died in nursing homes.
An impeachment can happen under Pennsylvania’s Constitution, but it is not known where the resolution could go.
The last time there was an impeachment within the commonwealth was a Supreme Court Judge in 1994, prior to that it was in the 1930’s.
