PITTSBURGH (News Radio 1020 KDKA) – Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden delivered a fiery pro-union speech to a packed Teamsters Temple Monday afternoon in Lawrenceville.

He  explained why he held his first rally in Pittsburgh, calling the people here the backbone of America.

“Quite frankly folks if I’m going to be able to beat Donald Trump in 2020 it’s going to happen here.”

Biden delivered a strong pro-worker, pro-union speech none more so than when he took on health care giant UPMC.  Telling UPMC, “Stop the union busting, stop.”

During his speech, Biden also talked about the middle class saying it’s hurting and that most people feel their children won’t have as good a life as they do.

“The stock market is roaring, but you don’t feel it.  There was a two trillion dollar tax cut last year, did you feel it?  Did you get anything from it?  Of course not.”

Biden spoke for more than twenty-five minutes saying it is time to reward work over wealth.
