PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) The University of Pittsburgh has announced that 18 students have tested positive for COVID-19 over the past few days.

Since Sept. 15 there have been 18 positive test results coming from surveillance and symptomatic testing.

There were already 64 students in active isolation from testing positive.

There have been no new staff or faculty cases within the main University of Pittsburgh campus, but they confirmed two positive cases with employees at the Johnstown campus.

No students have tested positive throughout the rest of the University of Pittsburgh campuses.

The drop in positive case rate has been attributed to the campuses mitigation efforts, proving that they are working.
