What's New At PNC Park For 2019


PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The final touches are being put on PNC Park this week for the Pirates home opener Monday.

Everything looks clean and green and new at the now 18-year-old ball park.

Team president Frank Coonelly took reporters on a tour of what's new at the park this year.

One of the things fans look most forward to is the new food offerings.

They include:

“Burger Kitchen” The new concession area behind second 115 will offer a double cheeseburger with tater tots among other beef delights.

The “Riverwalk Grill” in section 114 will offer cinnamon chipotle load totchos, which is tater tots covered with cinnamon spiced pulled pork, onions, green peppers and chipotle maple syrup.

The Pirates have also expanded Stem Zone for kids located inside the Right Field Gate will features a new VR Home Run Derby and Speed Pitch experience, pitching metrics cage and a new “Kids Cast” broadcasting booth.

The Bucs have also stocked up on new jerseys and hats in the Clubhouse Store. Manager Jason Hills showed off a multi-colored cap.
