PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A woman beaten and left for dead somehow survived, walking over two miles to find help.

State Police say the unidentified woman was assaulted last week by Charles Etling of Mount Pleasant after the two got into an argument.

After the attack and an attempt to strangle her, Etling left the woman near a creek bed.

It took the 40-year-old 11 hour to make her way to safety at a home on Meadowbrook Road.

Etling is in the Westmoreland County Jail without bond.

Police say the victim faces a long recovery.
