Arrest warrant issued in Monroeville Mall shooting

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) On Wednesday Oct. 7, a shooting occurred at the Monroeville Mall.

When police arrived at the scene they found a 20-year-old male with a gunshot wound in the torso.

The man would be taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Through the course of an investigation, police came to the conclusion that 20-year-old Lawrence Murphy was responsible for the fatal shooting.

An Arrest warrant has been issued for Murphy, who is being charged with criminal homicide and weapons violations.

Murphy is described to be 6-foot-2-inches tall with a thin build.

Murphy has also been tied to the Braddock area.

Anyone sighting Murphy is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately, and anyone with information regarding his possible whereabouts are asked to contact the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
