Hopewell High School student tests positive for COVID-19

Hopewell, Pa (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - On Tuesday, the Hopewell School District notified parents that a senior at the high school has tested positive for COVID-19.

The school says they're working to identify other students and faculty who have come into contact with the student, who was last in the building on September 23.

In the letter to parents, the district said they're working with the state Department of Health on contact tracing and will share recomendations from the department with familes as needed.

The school said they are "making every effort to keep the Hopewell Area School District students safe and to mitigate the risk of contracting COVID19." They've asked parents to monitor their children's health.

The Gateway School District in Monroeville had to close two of its schools when two students and two faculty members all tested positive for COVID-19 this month.
