PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - An Aliquippa man is facing federal penalties after he was caught with a loaded handgun at a security checkpoint at Pittsburgh International Airport on Thursday.
Transportation Security Adminstration say the Beaver County man had a 9mm handgun loaded with five bullets, including one in the chamber.
Allegheny County Police confiscated the weapon.
So far this year, 14 firearms have been caught at the airport. In 2019, a total of 35 were caught.
Nationwide, more than 4,400 firearms were caught at checkpoints in airports.
