PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) — Pitt’s starting quarterback Kenny Pickett has been declared out for the Panthers’ game against the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday.
Bruce Feldman broke the news via Twitter.
Pickett, in fact, did not even travel with Pitt for the game.
To be more specific, Pickett is out because of an ankle injury.
While Pickett might be the most well-known and crucial player to be out for Pitt, he isn't the only one.
Cornerback Damarri Mathis, tight end Lucas Krull, linebacker Wendell Davis, interior defensive lineman Keyshon Camp, backup Defensive lineman David Green, tight end Grant Carrigan, running back Israel Abanikanda, and defensive end Haba Baldonado are all also out for the Panthers-Hurricanes game.
With Pickett sidelined, either Joey Yellen or Davis Beville was set to get the starting nod.
And it appears that Pat Narduzzi and company have given the green light to redshirt freshman Yellen.
The Pitt Panthers v. Miami Hurricanes match kicks off at noon.
