PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) — You expect this much from a team that’s 10-0, but the Steelers have some excellent players.
And if you needed some more evidence, the current Pro Bowl vote tabulations only reaffirm this trend.
According to NFL.com, the Steelers are leading all teams in the league in total Pro Bowl votes.
What’s more, T.J. Watt is currently the tally leader for the AFC’s outside linebacker slot.
But some might look at the current positional front runners and notice that the Steelers have an even more impressive feather to put in their cap for 2020.
Steelers long snapper Kameron Canaday is currently leading at the position in the AFC.
Not only that, Canaday is leading all votes at the long snapper position altogether, beating NFC leader Hunter Bradley by over 3,000 votes.
But even more than that, Canaday is beating some household names at other positions like Khalil Mack and Marshon Lattimore.
Maybe hyping up the long snapper isn’t an orthodox moral victory, but it shows signs of a well-rounded, multifaceted team.
And while I won’t get ahead of myself, the little things can be the difference between wins and losses, winners and losers, and champions and runners-up.
But for now, it is what it is.
The Pro Bowl polls are still open, and fans can still vote until Dec. 17.
Since Canaday is already leading the long snappers, he is a strong candidate to win those Pro Bowl accolades.
And if he wins officially, then it can become a proud moment for a monumental Steelers season.
