In February of 2005, a nine-year-old Patrick Mahomes wrote into the Tyler Morning Telegraph in Tyler, Texas to predict that the Andy Reid-coached Philadelphia Eagles would defeat Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX:

Reid's Eagles weren't able to make good on Mahomes' prediction, as the Patriots won the game 24-21, the second consecutive title for Brady, Bill Belichick and company.

16 years later, Mahomes and the Chiefs, coached by Reid, will attempt to win their second straight Super Bowl title on Feb. 7. All that stands in their way are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by a 43-year-old Brady.
