Album releases become available for download Fridays at midnight East Coast Time. Since that's 9pm Thursday night West Coast Time, every Thursday night, Pepper picks her favorite songs from the new country albums and plays them on K-Frog for New at Nine! Here are her picks for this week.

Carly Pearce's sophomore album, affectionately called "CP2," will drop on Valentine's Day, and as a newlywed, that makes the day even more special for her. "Typically I’m not excited about Valentine’s Day - I really don’t care," she admits in a statement from her label. "It feels like just a day. But this particular Valentine’s Day it’s like the first one that I’m married, it’s this album that means so much to me, and getting to play a show with [my husband] Michael [Ray]. It’s gonna be a really, really special night and I think one of my favorite nights ever.

“I feel like the only way to release my album was to be on Valentine’s Day because love is such a theme of the album," she continues. "And to be able to release it on Valentine’s Day, and to be able to play a show with my husband, celebrating my album celebrating our first Valentine’s Day married, it’s just gonna be really fun and will be a very, very special night for me for a very huge number of reasons.”

Here are the songs I played from Carly Pearce for New at Nine tonight:

1. You Kissed Me First

2. Closer to You

3. I Hope You're Happy Now (with Lee Brice)
